    Maize

    In east Africa, there are two types of maize produced in two different rain seasons, there is White and yellow Maize, however the main produce is white maize. Maize produced in East Africa can be widely processed to various types of products for human consumption and animals feed.

    Copper

    Copper (Cu) ore is a naturally occurring mineral deposit that contains copper in varying concentrations. It is an important industrial metal that has been used by human civilizations for thousands of years due to its excellent electrical and thermal conductivity, high ductility, and resistance to corrosion. Copper is widely used in various applications, including electrical wiring, plumbing, construction, transportation, and electronics, making it a critical component of modern society.

    Manganese

    It is a hard, brittle, silvery metal, often found in minerals in combination with iron. Manganese is essential to iron and steel production. Steelmaking, including its ironmaking component, has accounted for most manganese demand, presently in the range of 85% to 90% of the total demand. Manganese is a key component of low-cost stainless steel. Also manganese is used in production of alloys with aluminium.

    Mica

    Mica is a naturally produced mineral widely used in various products, including cosmetics, paint, and electrical insulation. It is a silicate mineral, meaning that it is composed of silicon, oxygen, and one or more metal ions. It is known for resisting many substances, including chemicals, acids, gasses, alkalis, and oils.

    Beans

    Beans are crops with a most varieties maturing in a range of two to four months depending on type, soil and weather conditions. In East Africa they are grown twice a year with sowing running from March to April and September to October.  Also there are many different types produced but the popular beans are red, Yellow, white, purple/grey spotted, black and brown. Beans are among the main grain produced and exported from East Africa to the rest of the world.

    Coffee

    East Africa produced some of the world best coffee because of the region unique climate and geography. Coffee from this area is holding a significant share of world market.  Arabic and Robusta are the kind of coffee in east Africa,   grown and nurtured natural in highlands areas with cooler weather, the high season is from June to December each year.  

    Tea Leaves

    Production of tea in Africa contributes not less than 25 percent of the world tea exports, among which east Africa makes good tea with unique aroma and special flavor, as it is cultivated in areas with good climate patterns, good soil and best farming practice since 1880’s.  Africans governments are putting a lot of efforts to support tea farming In order to increase its produces and tea export at large.

    One of the economic opportunities in east Africa is sesame seeds, the crop have been accelerated in production yearly because of increase of its demand in various place of the world like Asia, USA and Europe.

    Soya Beans

    Soya Beans is among the best source of protein for human being and animal food, like other beans cultivated in Africa, soya also is produces mainly for export business and small amount for local use because the products is not popular for many people in Africa. There is different types of soya beans in Africa like Bossier, uyole soya 1, Ezum, Delma Hermon , Duiker, kaleya and others, however Bossier soya is the one produced in many east Africa areas as it is the most thrives.   

    Rice

    Rice is among most important food and commercial crops in east Africa with a significant source of foreign current to east African countries, the crops is for internal use and export as well, on the same way , recently many African countries have put in place strategic  plans and favorable policies to increase rice production. In this regards, many people are now interested in the production.

    Cashew Nuts

     Tropical weather of hot lowland areas found in some east Africa regions favored growth of fine cashew nuts. East Africa has significant production of cashew nuts which are widely consumed in various ways, some people like to eat it on its own, while in the other ways cashew can be used in different recipes or can be processed into cheese or cashew butter and so on.
